Medical: Why Smaller Is Better

Today electronic equipment is becoming portable and the demand for better batteries with higher capacities, smaller size, and lower weight is increasing.

In every field and especially in the medical field, it is of great importance to choose the battery (a type of chemistry, capacity, power, the physical size of the battery or cell, etc.) and the required protections (protection circuit design and/or protection component selection) to suit product requirements. If required by the customer, a data communication card can be added to the SBS1 protocol.

This communication protocol is based on serial data communication between the battery and the user computer/product.

Advantage:

  • Receiving data in real-time, such as voltage, current, working time, and longevity.
  • A variety of applications in a computerized environment.
  • Possibility of programming the following parameters: final voltage of unloading and loading of the case, limitation    Stream in working mode with the app that communicates with the battery.

 

 

Medical equipment and in particular batteries that are a critical component in the product must pass a standard such as:

  2. For rechargeable batteries (PI965 batteries separately + PI967 batteries inside device).
  3. For Primary (Not rechargeable) batteries (PI968 batteries separately + PI970 batteries inside device)}.
  4. IEC62133 battery safety testing for rechargeable batteries.
  5. IEC60086 battery safety testing for Primary (Not rechargeable) batteries
  6. And other safety and environmental conditions testing for batteries according to the project need. 

The constant improvement in battery technology requires faster and safer charging. Higher accuracy in monitoring the charging process is required to reduce the charging time and reach the full capacity of the battery while preventing damage to the battery.

Mascot – a Scandinavian Pioneer in Electronics

In 1953, Mascot was the first Norwegian manufacturer to introduce car radios in Norway. Market Adaptability

Our experience goes well beyond radios and manufacturing abroad, however. As the radio business became increasingly competitive throughout the 1960s, Mascot looked to utilize its development and manufacturing know-how in new ways and found an exciting emerging market in telephone answering machines. For over 35 years, Mascot manufactured these machines under the brand name Ekkofon, which for many businesses became synonymous with the name for an answering machine.

From radios to power supplies

In addition to our manufacturing base, Mascot started in the 1970s also to import stereo and video equipment from the Far East. These were sold under both the Mascot and Silver brand names, and this continued until 1989.

The power supply business came out of the need for battery eliminators for Radios. These were promoted for the first time in 1964. The range of power supply products has grown considerably since then, reflecting changes in customer demands and technology.

Today, Mascot is a leading manufacturer of power supplies and battery chargers. Our main offices are located in Fredrikstad, Norway, and production can either take place in our own facilities in Tallinn, Estonia, or in Ningbo, China.
